چکیده

Aim To describe the incidence of term and preterm neonatal cerebral sinovenous thrombosis (CSVT) identify perinatal risk factors. Method This was a national capture-recapture calculation-corrected surveillance nested case–control study. Infants born at with magnetic resonance imaging-confirmed CSVT were identified by in all paediatric hospitals Germany (2015–2017). Incidence corrected for underreporting using method one federal state then extrapolated nationwide. We reviewed PubMed comparisons previously reported estimators. used population-based database quality assurance to select four controls per case applied univariate multivariable regression factor analysis. Results Fifty-one newborn infants (34 males, 17 females; 14 preterm) 3-year period. The 6.6 (95% confidence interval [CI] 4.4–8.7) 100 000 live births. Median age time confirmation diagnosis 9.95 days (range 0–39d). In analysis, male sex, birth, hypoxia related indicators (umbilical artery pH <7.1; 5-minute Apgar score <7; intubation/mask ventilation; asphyxia), operative vaginal delivery, emergency Caesarean section, pathological fetal Doppler sonography associated (p<0.05) CSVT. Multivariable yielded (odds ratio=20.3; 95% CI 8.1–50.8) as independent factor. Interpretation within range other studies. results suggest that is an important aetiology
